Where does Senator Obama stand on Energy Policy? From the record it is obvious he is anti Big Oil and for Big Coal and Big Corn and sometimes he is for Big Environmental Lobbies, just depends on what he wants you to hear. But he is definitely not for an energy policy that works. If we look at his policies closely enough, they are genocidal and not Pro-Environment either. The position that Senator Obama's policy outlines will result in higher energy prices, sucking up to special interests, destabilizing our economy, burning food for fuel killing millions of the poor in Kenya and weakening our national security.

Where do Senator Obama's loyalties lie?

When Obama ran for U.S. Senate in 2004, he claimed that "there's always going to be a role for coal" in Illinois. USA Today also reminds readers that employees of coal companies and electric utilities contributed over $500,000 to his Senate and presidential campaigns. "Big Coal" has Obama in their corner. Never taking them on just pandering for donations.

In May 1998, State Sen. Obama voted in favor of a bill condemning the Kyoto global warming treaty. As a result of this vote Illinois could make no move to regulate greenhouse gases: the big winners there: the state's coal industry and labor unions. Today candidate Obama running for President says climate change is "one of the greatest moral challenges of our generation."

But despite his "new" position on Global Warming, on Coal his position seems to be Tax breaks and subsidies. Obama is giving subsidies to companies in exchange for no positive environmental impact? When getting elected is what matters remaining in the good graces of the coal industry, is more important than good policy or meeting the "moral challenge of our generation." Obama is for "Big Coal."

Obama is not just for Big Coal, his state and a good bit of his funding comes from "Big Corn." Obama has plenty of funding coming his way. This summer the New York Times headline read "Obama Camp Closely Linked With Ethanol." Obama is a staunch backer of ethanol subsidies, in an April Press Conference, he said "Look, I've been a strong ethanol supporter because Illinois ... is a major corn producer." He cannot be any clearer than that. It's where the money is. But, Ethanol is a concept which is definitively under attack. It was a knee-jerk reaction to greenhouse gas and where do we find ourselves after we have subsidized it and mandated it: Ethanol has less fuel economy, the same greenhouse gas and creates higher food prices. This is the change that Obama wants? "Bad for the economy, bad for consumers, bad for the planet — what's not to love?" Obama is for Big Corn.

Obama is Anti-Oil, Big Coal, Big Corn. His constituents sit on plenty of Coal and Corn in Illinois, not too much oil there. His actions show he is definitely supporting the Coal and Corn industries profit and policies. Not so good for the environment or the economy. Big Coal and Big Corn, that's his energy policy: energy special interests before the economy and the environment.

Obama has said he would tell the American people what we need to hear, and not just what we want to hear. Senator Obama does not have a track record to show us that he means what he says: that he will stand for what HE believes in. The Voters are to believe that when push comes to shove, he will put the interest of Americans above the special interests that got him elected. If that is what Senator Obama wants us to believe, he had better start telling us what he really plans to do. Because if his past actions and his present words are any measure of the man: he cannot be counted on to tell us what we NEED to hear, only what special interest wants us to hear.
