 OBAMA: Let me sort of describe my overall policy. What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there. I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.  According to an interview with Bloomberg last week: "Barack Obama will classify carbon dioxide as a dangerous pollutant that can be regulated, opening the way for new rules on greenhouse gas emissions. Obama will tell the Environmental Protection Agency that it may use the 1990 Clean Air Act to set emissions limits on power plants and manufacturers, That move would impose new regulation and taxes across the entire economy, something that is usually the purview of Congress.  Where does Senator Obama stand on Energy Policy? From the record it is obvious he is anti Big Oil and for Big Coal and Big Corn and sometimes he is for Big Environmental Lobbies, just depends on what he wants you to hear. But he is definitely not for an energy policy that works. If we look at his policies closely enough, they are genocidal and not Pro-Environment either. The position that Senator Obama's policy outlines will result in higher energy prices, sucking up to special interests, destabilizing our economy, burning food for fuel killing millions of the poor in Kenya and weakening our national security.  Congress: The national legislative body of the United States, consisting of the Senate and the House of Representatives. These are the people that make our laws that dictate how we live. These are the people that we elect to act in our best interest. We elected them with the belief that they could be trusted to make the right decisions for America’s future. But it seems that our congress has fallen victim to the Ostrich-effect. I am stunned, as I am certain you are – Congress, during our most serious energy and economic crisis in decades recessed for a five week Summer Vacation without any real or significant intention to address the economic crisis being endured by the American people due to high energy prices. Does Schumer Have an Oil Brain Tumor?

 On May 1, Senator Schumer (D-NY) stated "this million barrels a day that ANWR would produce would reduce the price of gasoline by a penny". The senior senator called drilling in the ANWR 'plain wrong.' This ideology just absolutely ignores the laws of supply and demand that run a free market economy. But let's not assume he's has no grasp of economics just yet. Less than two weeks later, on May 11th, the esteemed Senator from New York, Mr. Schumer, said: 'There is one way to get the price of oil down and it's two words — Saudi Arabia. If they were to increase by 800,000 barrels per day, the price would come down probably 35 to 50 cents a gallon. That's a lot." [Read More] |
Starbucks Sales Decline - Closing 600 Stores Nationwide

 Starbuck's announced the closing of over 600 stores nationwide this past week. That will put more than 12,000 people out of work, mostly young people like me. Why are they closing their stores? People must choose between fuel and a cup of coffee. Tim Walberg (R- MI) to force a vote on a bill to increase U.S. energy production and invest in alternative sources of energy. The appropriately named No More Excuses Energy Act, H.R. 3089, would increase the supply of energy produced in America and begin to break our dependence on foreign oil.
Speaker Pelosi refuses to bring this bill to the House floor, a discharge petition is the only way to force a vote on this legislation. House rules state that a discharge petition must have 218 signatures (a simple majority) in order to bring a bill to the floor for a vote, and Rep. The purpose of the ads is to explain to the public the extent to which the legislation could damage the economy, should it pass.
